Cloud security is one of the fastest-growing specializations in tech, and for good reason. But here is the honest part that most roadmaps skip: cloud security engineering is usually not an entry-level job. It sits at the intersection of networking, cloud platforms, and security, and you need solid grounding in at least two of those three before you can be effective. A cloud security engineer is responsible for protecting an organization’s cloud infrastructure, applications, and data from threats. This is not the same as a traditional security analyst who monitors alerts on a SIEM dashboard.
