Advance to Interviews: Two Ways to Qualify

Scaler NSET
Based on your Scaler NSET Score or Prior achievements in Tech, you'll be shortlisted for interviews.
  • NSET is a 120-minute online test that assesses admission and scholarship eligibility, covering Mathematics and Logical Reasoning.
  • A student can take NSET thrice in an academic year.
  • Tech achievements such as building a real-world project with active users or securing top ranks on platforms like Codeforces are also considered.

  • The hostel fee mention here is indicative, the exact fees will be shared as a part of your offer letter
  • The hostel fee is subject to periodic revision in line with inflation. Over the past two years, the fee has increased by approximately 5% to 8% annually. However, this percentage is not fixed and may vary in the future.
  • The hostel fee is charged annually; however the students are expected to vacate their rooms into a common room during the one-month summer vacation to enable painting and maintenance. Students who wish to stay on campus during vacation for projects can do so with special permission
  • During the 4th-year Industry Immersion phase, students who choose not to stay on campus are exempt from paying hostel fees for that period.
  • Hostel Room options: Triple (₹1.23L), Double (₹1.56L), Large Double (₹1.80L).
  • Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with menus managed by the student mess committee and vendors. Veg, Non-veg and Jain options are prepared separately. Starting from base fare of INR 60000 annually
  • The mess fee is optional, decision needs to be made at the start of an academic year
  • The mess fee is subject to periodic revision in line with vendor requirements as well as inflation
  • Students need to pay the mess fee upfront for a year.

Merit-Based Scholarships will be granted to students who exhibit exceptional achievements in any of the following areas.

Parameter Criteria
Aptitude/Academics
  • Performance in competitive exams like JEE, BITSAT or SAT
  • For IB/IGCSE students : Scores in IBDP & Number of AP Exams with a score of 5 or more
Development/Innovation
  • Students who have independently built projects.Preference for projects with active users or paid users.
Competitive Coding
  • Demonstrable excellence in competitive coding (e.g., top rankings on Codeforces, LeetCode, Code Jam, etc.).
Olympiads
  • Achievements at International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM), International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) & Indian Computing Olympiad (ICO)
    • Note:
  • Students representing India in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) or International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) receive a 100% scholarship (subject to clearing interviews)
  • Students winning at the national level at Indian National Olympiad in Informatics (INOI) or Indian National Mathematics Olympiad (INMO) receive a 50% scholarship (subject to clearing interviews)

Students enrolled in Scaler School of Technology’s program may also choose to pursue an online Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university (such as IIT-M, BITS Pilani) in parallel. They will be required to comply with the terms and conditions of such university to receive this degree.

By doing this, we want to bring the best of both worlds together. On the one hand, our learners will have access to the latest curriculum, be taught by teachers with practical experience, and pursue a 1-year tech internship that ensures they are set up for success in Computer Science in India & abroad.

On the other hand, formal degrees from a reputed university enable them to be eligible for the following,
  • Masters outside India via exams like GRE
  • Getting a work visa for migrating abroad
  • MBA in India and abroad via exams like CAT & GMAT

The BS in Data Science and Applications, offered by IIT Madras, is an official degree approved by the Senate of IIT Madras, which has the power to award degrees as per The Institutes of Technology Act, 1961. Does this online degree hold the same equivalence as conventional ?
