I started developing an interest in programming algorithms around the second year of my computer science engineering. We were introduced to data structures and algorithms as a subject and I became really interested in it. We learnt how we could use it to solve all day-to-day problems that people face. Like how in Facebook, the underlying data structures and algorithms created by programmers help millions of people connect with each other.

It was in 2019 that I completed my graduation and joined an IT services company where I worked as an engineer. During my time there, I came to know about InterviewBit. When Scaler Academy (then InterviewBit Academy) came along, I applied. Since I was fascinated by algorithms, the program really appealed to me. Luckily, I cleared the entrance test and got selected.

I joined Academy and thoroughly enjoyed the program right from the beginning. I got the opportunity to attend superb lectures and receive excellent mentorship throughout the course. I learnt a lot during the lectures from the instructors, and all the teaching assistants helped us understand the concepts better.

Everyone at Scaler was really helpful. From clearing doubts in algorithms to assisting us with assignments, someone was always available. For me personally, the classes dealing with data structures and algorithms, and design were quite beneficial. I got to know the nitty gritties of how to design a system, and more.

In fact, I also found a like-minded and intelligent peer group at Scaler. The peer community was so vibrant that any of us could seek help for whatever problems we had. Whenever we were solving problems and had a doubt, we could just visit the Scaler Chat, post it and all our batchmates would pitch in. The overall experience with the peer group was pretty great.

At Scaler, I had a mentor from Microsoft. He was the catalyst in my progress and offered me constructive and positive feedback. He was always there for me whenever I needed his support. He helped me with my interview preparation and was also a great support to me personally. I was quiet and not much of a talker before I came to Scaler. My mentor helped me become better at making conversations too. He was truly a great mentor.

I’m currently working at Amazon Bangalore as an SDE-1 (software development engineer). I got placed here during my days at Scaler and currently, I’m working on my short-term goal which is to grow and learn a lot. It’s a large organization and the idea is to do great work and receive appreciation from my senior colleagues. I want to earn accolades for how I perform. In the long run, I want to be a technically sound and an accomplished systems engineer!

Every time I get an opportunity, I recommend the Scaler program to my juniors in the field and from college. Whenever I’m asked where I improved my knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms, I say Scaler!

It’s undoubtedly the best place to start in the field of coding, programming and algorithms.
